When we lose someone that is THAT close to us that it hurts like a part of you is being ripped away, it can cause us to freeze in time. A number of friends and family are grieving right now. So let me leave you all with a good bit of advice on this moment and for future hard times:
Wrap yourself in a nice warm towel. Put on something that makes you feel like they are there with you (movie, TV show, music) and have a nice moment remembering all the amazing memories.
Life is a connection through to the beginning of time. We are connected through the umbilical chord to our mother’s mother’s mother’s…. But we are a web of memories that we gift those who come into our lives. It is these memories that we can carry with us, let them influence and guide us to be our future selves.
While their physical self is no longer present, those memories are part of us as much as our lineage is. In hard times draw from your memories of those who made us strong. Lean into those who would have given us great guidance. Take with us on those vacations we have that they couldn’t make. Live life with them in spirit.
